Things were not looking good when the Centreville Girls Lacrosse team started the season 0-3-1, until you looked at how difficult those first 4 games were- facing Robinson, Langley, and 2 private schools. Well, they haven’t lost in over a month now and after 6 straight wins, they find themselves sitting at 6-3-1. The teams turnaround is in no doubt due, in large part, to the tremendous play of their 2 top scorers– Junior, Paige Richbourg and Senior, Elizabeth The Machine Murphy…. Actually, they are not just the Wildcats top scorers, they are #1 and #2 in NoVa. Richbourg has 48 goals and 21 assists and has already beaten her goal scoring total from last year. Murphy, who led NoVa last season in goals scored, has an astounding 64 goals and 8 assists, which is ahead last year’s pace as well. The Machine is also on pace to reach 300 goals for her career, which seems unfathomable. Oh yeah, the dynamic duo has a combined average of 11 goals and 3 assists per game alone would have won them 5 games this year. If you haven’t seen them play yet…… what are you doing??
