Winners of 8 straight games heading into Saturday’s match-up with Kettle Run, you could say theĀ Freedom Eagles were on a roll. That roll looked like it had no plans of stopping when Freedom got a 4-1 lead in the 1st quarter, but Kettle Run would bounce back to tie it up at 9 each going into the 4th quarter. The Eagles decided to get back on track and outscored Kettle Run 5-1 in the final quarter to make it 9 straight wins with a 14-10 victory.

Freshman, Aidan Doherty had 2 goals and an assist, while Junior, Andrew Donovan added 2 goals and a ridiculous 5 assists. That gives Donovan 25 assists on the year and placing him in the top 5 in all of NoVA assist leaders. The star of the night goes to Junior, Hunter Capestany for having 4 goals and 1 assist. Capestany has been terrific this season and now sits on 33 goals and 30 assists total on the year. The 30 assists places him atop of the assist leaders and the 33 goals in the top 10 of goal scorers in NoVA. So, yeah, you could say he is having a pretty good year.

Next up, Freedom faces James Monroe on May 16th.
